Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Our old siding is being re-purposed as framing for glass block windows in our new closet. And, since a few folks have asked about our team, they are still hard at work, helping to construct the block windows. There's nothing quite like teamwork!

If the crown fits...

Bill found this display of crown moulding at an architectural salvage shop.
If only we could find a use for it. Alas, not this time. Still quite striking, isn't it?

Factory worker

Bill went to the doctor and came back with shingles. Bah dum bum. Seriously, now, he'll be here all week. No, really. On his way back from a check-up, he purchased the shingles that we need for a small portion of the exterior. They need to be fully dry before they can have a finish put on and then installed, so he lined them up in an open upstairs room. Quite beautiful in the afternoon sun.

Last Window: The Secret of House West

The last window going in, with Kyro supervising from the sunny spot.
Sometimes, our well of cleverness must be filled by a quick Google search. When I searched for "last window", I was pointed to "Last Window: The Secret of Cape West," a Nintendo game also known as "Last Window: Midnight Promise" in Japan. I think the real secret and the real promise s the value of Whole House Building Supply in Palo Alto, where Bill was able to find the exactly perfect window for our new master bedroom.
